This review checked all 3 register entries on 1 October 2026 and opened akbets.bet that day. In the table, Active marks a domain the licensee says it's using right now.

AK Bets' sign-up offer, in pounds: join with code AKACCA100, then make your first bet a £10 treble priced at 8.0. If it lands, that's £70 profit, and you'd get a £17.50 free bet within a day of settlement.

• If you mostly bet accas: the boost pays only on a winning first bet of 3 or more selections, at combined odds of 2.0 or better.
• If slots or live casino come first: the Casino Club adds at least £1 of no-wagering spins after any day you stake £50.
• If you'd rather talk to a person: Trader Chat promises a human from 8am to 10pm, every day.

Is Star Sports an AK Bets sister site?

Not any more. Archived copies of the AK Bets home page from December 2024, April 2025 and 11 October 2025 all name Star Racing Ltd, licence 009177, in Hove. Back then, you'd have been betting under the licence that still covers Star Sports.

Akbo's own licence began on 27 March 2025, yet the October 2025 copy still named Star Racing. Today's footer gives AKBO Limited and account 66030 instead.

Star Racing's domain list now shows akbets.bet as Inactive. That's the Commission's label for an address that's out of use, and another licensee could take it on. Akbo has done just that.

Star Racing's list also marks ne-bet.com and McBookie's web address Inactive. Neither is on Akbo's list, so you shouldn't count either one as an AK Bets sister. For other brands, start from the sister sites index.

Who runs AK Bets: Akbo Limited or AK Bets Limited?

Both companies give the register one head office, 186 Harolds Cross Road in Terenure, Dublin. Akbo holds the remote licence that covers the website, casino included. AK Bets Limited has 2 betting licences, non-remote and ancillary remote, but no websites. A non-remote licence is what land-based betting needs, so think bookmakers and betting shops.

That fits how AK Bets describes itself. Its terms call it an independent bookmaker that grew out of on-course betting and a telephone business. You can still bet by phone, and a phone bet stands only once the operator has read all of it back to you.

AK Bets' footer also gives AKBO Limited's company number, 752964, and its Irish licence, 1022355. Yet clause 2 says AK Bets is established in and operates from the UK, quoting 66030 as its licence number with the Gambling Commission. Clause 9 then gives a contact address for a third company, AK Bets Online Limited, in Swindon.

Which free bets does AK Bets give?

How does the sign-up free bet work?

With code AKACCA100, your first bet decides it. It has to be a treble or bigger on any sport, at combined odds of Evens (2.0) or longer, and a Build A Bet won't count. If it wins, you're credited with a quarter of the profit as a free bet within 24 hours of settlement. A losing first bet earns nothing, and so does one that's cashed out or voided.

In pounds, that is: reaching the £100 ceiling takes £400 of profit, which a £20 treble at 21.0 delivers by returning £420. Anything smaller scales down in proportion.

Use the free bet within 7 days, at whatever odds you like. Its stake doesn't come back with a win, so £17.50 at odds of 3.0 pays you £35, not £52.50. You can't swap it for cash, and only 1 claim is allowed per household or IP address.

What do the clubs pay regular bettors?

The home page lists 4 clubs that reward regular betting with free bets. They share 1 rule. Place £50 of qualifying stakes on bets that settle that day, and a free bet of at least £1 is yours by noon the next day.

• Kennel Club: greyhound bets only, and the free bet expires after a month.
• In-Play Multis Club: multiples on in-play markets, with cashed-out bets left out of the count.
• The club for American racing: races run in the United States, with the same 1-month expiry.
• Virtuals Club: virtual sports, though this free bet expires after 1 week.

At the minimum, £1 back for every £50 staked is a 2% return. Alongside the clubs run 2 football offers, where £50 on AK's Bet Boosts or on Premier League goalscorer markets earns a free bet.

Casino players have a club of their own. Stake £50 or more on slots or live casino in a day, and at least 10 spins at 10p each land at noon the next day. That's £1 of spins, or 2p for every £1 you stake.

Any win from them is credited as cash to your main balance, with no wagering, so you can withdraw it. The spins last 7 days, and they're only for UK and Irish residents.

How do withdrawals and daily win limits work?

How long does a withdrawal take?

On withdrawal time, the help page makes a single promise. Once AK Bets has processed your request, most withdrawals reach customers at once.

Where possible, the money is paid back to the account your deposits came from. Did you fund it with more than one method? Then the withdrawal is split between them in proportion.

There's no daily cap, though a request over £20,000 may need extra arrangements. You can deposit by Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard, Maestro, Revolut, Monzo or bank transfer, in pounds or euros. Credit cards, cheques and crypto aren't accepted. Some card issuers treat a deposit with a bookmaker as a cash withdrawal and charge you for it.

The rule underneath is clause 34, which covers deposits you haven't bet through in full. Cash out before that point, and AK Bets can charge its reasonable costs and take them out of what you receive.

How much can you win in a day?

Big limits are part of the pitch. The terms put a number on them. Casino, live casino, games and slots each cap a single payout at £100,000. That's also the most you can win across all 4 in any rolling 24 hours.

So a £60,000 slot win and a £60,000 live-casino win on the same day pay you £100,000 between them, not £120,000. Progressive jackpots sit outside that cap, while virtual sports stop at £25,000. AK Bets dated this payout table 9 June 2026, and you can ask Trader Chat for a higher limit on a given bet.

What happens to dormant balances and customer funds?

Go 365 days without a bet and your account counts as dormant. AK Bets then tries to reach you, and if you haven't bet or withdrawn 14 days after that contact, the money is removed. So the earliest it can go is 379 days after your last bet, since it's bets that count here, not logins.

Customer money sits separately from AK Bets' own funds, but it isn't protected if the business becomes insolvent. That's the level the Commission calls Not Protected. Where the clause should say which account holds the money, it still prints a bracketed list of options.

Where does an unresolved AK Bets complaint go?

Start with Live Chat, or the support address in clause 68 of the terms. You have 6 months to raise it, counted from the incident or from when you became aware of it. AK Bets commits to confirming receipt within 24 hours, and within 3 working days at the latest, with a reference number.

1. Anything left unsolved goes to the Escalation Management Team, and then to a final Manager Review.
2. If there's no agreed outcome after 8 weeks, you'll receive a Final Decision Notice, which the terms also call a Deadlock Letter.
3. That letter lets you hand the case over to IBAS. Short for Independent Betting Adjudication Service, it charges you nothing, and its ruling binds both sides. AK Bets' help page says it will always abide by that ruling.

You can tell the Gambling Commission how a complaint was handled, but it doesn't resolve individual disputes or award compensation. English law governs the terms. The guide to the UKGC licence explains what the regulator does instead.

Which limits and self-exclusion tools does AK Bets offer?

Deposit limits are rolling and net, over 1, 7 or 30 days, counting deposits minus withdrawals back from the current moment. With a £100 1-day limit, paying in £100 and taking out £40 leaves you at £60 net, so £40 more can go in. Cutting a limit takes hold immediately. Any rise waits for a 24-hour cooling-off first.

A Play Break pauses deposits and bets. Pick 24 hours at the shortest or 6 weeks at the longest. Nobody can lift it early, but you can still withdraw.

AK Bets offers self-exclusion in 6 lengths, starting at 6 months and topping out at 5 years. You can extend one at any time, but once it's set, it can't be removed. Any balance is refunded, or donated to a gambling charity if it's under £1, and marketing stops within 48 hours. Once the exclusion ends, you'd contact Support to come back.

AK Bets' safer gambling page also points you to GAMSTOP, the free scheme for self-excluding from online gambling firms licensed in Great Britain. On GAMSTOP you pick a term no shorter than 6 months and no longer than 5 years. When it's over, the block doesn't simply end. It can last 7 more years beyond that, unless you contact GAMSTOP and ask to end it.

That page still prints an old GamCare number, 0845 6000 133, and still points readers to GambleAware, whose services ceased on 31 March 2026. Nobody under 18 can open an AK Bets account.
